Editorial Policy
SleepyDeepy publishes practical sleep guides and sleep news to help people sleep better. This page explains how our articles are researched, written and checked, and how we keep our editorial content separate from the products we sell.
Who we are
SleepyDeepy is a UK sleep wellness brand founded in 2023. We make sleep products, and we also publish free content in our Sleep Hub and in Sleep News. Our content is edited by co-founder Scott McCulloch, who is accountable for what we publish. Our articles on women's sleep - periods, pregnancy and menopause - are written by co-founder Karris McCulloch. You can read more about us here.
What we publish
- Sleep guides - practical, evergreen articles that explain why a sleep problem happens and what helps, starting with free and simple changes.
- Sleep News - timely, original analysis of new sleep research and sleep stories in the news, explaining what was found, its limits and what it means for an ordinary sleeper.
- This Week in Sleep - a weekly round-up of the most useful sleep stories and research.
How we research
Our articles are based on published research, official health sources such as the NHS, and reputable news outlets. We link to the original source so you can read it yourself. When we report on a study, we say what it actually found, how big it was and what the researchers say still needs to be confirmed. We do not reproduce other publishers' articles - we summarise, link to them and add our own analysis.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help research and draft our articles. Before an article is published it is checked against these standards: every health claim must be traceable to a named, reputable source, sensitive topics are held back for human review, and anything that cannot be verified is left out.
Health information
Our articles are general information, not medical advice. If your symptoms are persistent or severe, or you are unsure what is causing them, please speak to your GP. SleepyDeepy products are designed to support your sleep and are not a treatment for any medical condition.
Keeping editorial and commercial content separate
We sell sleep products, and we are open about that. Our Sleep News articles never include product links or promotions - they are there to inform. Our sleep guides may mention one of our products where it is genuinely relevant to the problem being discussed, and when they do we say plainly what the product can and cannot do.
Corrections
We try hard to get things right. If you spot a mistake, please email hello@sleepydeepy.com with the subject "Correction" and a link to the article. We will check it and correct the article promptly.
